Movie Couples, Twice the Love

Some of the best and most memorable films that we have seen feature on screen couples that have done a series of films together. This post is about those couples who have fallen in love at least twice on screen. The most memorable of these couple and the most successful of all time are of course William Powell and Myrna Loy. Famous for the Thin Man films they also starred in Double Wedding, Libeled Lady, I Love You Again and Love Crazy. Though never a couple in real life they were the most popular movie couple of all time.

The next couple that I want to look at have only done two films so far together, but I believe deserve to be included. Richard Dreyfuss and Holly Hunter have starred together in Always and Once Around. Both films are bitter sweet romances where love and death play a huge part in each film.

Next up is a couple that has done three movies so far together and I am hoping for a dozen more. They fit like a hand in a boxing glove. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence are well on their way to become our best modern onscreen couple.

Here is a look at a bunch of couples who did not make my list, but who knows if they continue to act some of them will make a future list. The one couple that you will see that I could make a case for is from Dirty Dancing, they are in that movie and Red Dawn, but Red Dawn is not a romance.

More Romantic Short Films For Valentines Day

More Romantic Short Films For Valentines Day

The last post on this subject proved to be so popular that I will be showing you a few more short films for Valentines day. Here at the Holiday Network we try our best to give the audience what they want as long as they do not request anything Twilight related. The first of the short films that I would like to offer today is for all of those kids who grew up watching the Power Rangers.

Yes, a romantic film with a Power Rangers theme. Love comes in all shapes sizes and costumes. I had a crush on a VR Trooper.

I have always thought that there is a fine line between stalking and romance. That person you are with now was at one time a distant and unattainable object of your affections. You probably thought that he or she was way out of your league and would be crazy to settle for someone like you. You were a stable boy who could only manage to say as you wish to the beautiful princess who was yelling at you or a lovely maid to your wicked stepsisters longing to go to the ball and meet prince charming. Maybe even you were a girl who was busy looking for her sister who had ran away from home after revealing her mutant powers and freezing your home town. While looking for her you fell in love with a block headed guy who talks to reindeer. Is that how it was? No, you were introduced by a friend?

Sequel time. This is the sequel to the movie that you have just watched.

TV Romances, Beauty and the Beast

TV Romances, Beauty and the Beast

There have been hundreds of romantic television series since the beginning ov broadcast tv. I could list them here, but for me and those at the Holiday Network there is one television series that towers over all of the others. It seemed that it set out to become the most romantic show ever and for those of us who watched it during its first run on television we would say that it achieved that goal.

The show is Beauty and The Beast. Do not confuse it with the sad and pale reboot on the CW network. The orginal starring Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman is one of a kind. The thing that has kept it from becoming an all time classic is that it ended poorly. the network that produced it wanted to continue the show without Linda Hamilton and decided for a reason that still boggles the mind to kill her character off rather than having the two characters walk off into the sunset together. A grand retelling of a fairy tale that missed out on a fairy tale ending. That said, the seasons that the leads were together are gold and I would like to share this as a Valentines gift to all the romantics out there.

We do not have broadcast rights to this show so I would suggest that fans of the show track it down online and invested in the complete series box set.

You may also wish to visit the original source material in the form of the French film that is consider the best version of the Beauty and The Beast fable.

There is a brand new version of the story that has been shown in Europe, but has yet to reach the USA. This version looks stunning.

Holiday Music Videos

Holiday Music Videos

I am one of those people who love Christmas music. I start listening around the first of November and do not stop until Halloween of the next year. My love of all music holiday has forced me to avoid the standard stuff on FM radio each year. I hope that the lineup will change each year, but it is usually the same twenty to thirty songs on every station. The problem with this is that there are hundreds of songs that get missed from years past and hundreds of new ones each year.
Today I would like to highlight the underplayed songs.
These are my picks for the songs that should get more plays.

First up is Faith Hills’s Where Are You Christmas.

This has rapidly become one of my all time favorites, Hall and Oates, It Came Upon A Midnight Clear.

Darlene Love is famous for one holiday song, but I love the one that she did for the movie Home Alone 2.

Darlene Love – All Alone On Christmas from Noor Ahmed on Vimeo.

Next up is the best Acapella performance of any song that I have ever heard. It is Martina McBride singing Oh Holy Night.

Next is a song from Annie Lennox, born on Christmas by the way, I thought this song would be come a classic when I heard it, but so far it has gone unnoticed. The song is Universal Child.

The Holiday Network will always go back in time where ever possible to find classics (wait until you see what we have for Valentines day) and Christmas songs have been a staple of the recording industry since the beginning.

This is the most familiar Christmas song of them all. The Christmas Song with a little twist it is a duet in this case with both Nat King Cole & Frank Sinatra.

Thank you for visiting my site. Please take a moment to bookmark this post and if there is a song you think should have been included please leave a comment and if I agree I will post it.

Audio books. They have a great 30 day trial offer. It is totally free and I just listened to a Game of Thrones book. The books are different from the series. A lot more in the books to absorb. Did I mention that it is a free trial. That is like a free book or two.
